Viney http://www.vmuriel.com/post_viney.html A new experiment using Houdini fluids. Houdini BSSRDF http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fritzsss.html Some information about Houdini subsurface scattering. Opening http://www.vmuriel.com/post_opening.html I love Philip Glass's music. I like his repetitive structure compositions, is a kind of procedural music. The first composition that I heard from Glass was Opening, I fell in love with it. I did my own version yesterday, I hope you like. Sounds of Stuttgart http://www.vmuriel.com/post_stuttgart.html No renders this time, only a camera and a bit of color grading. Water Shader Fluid Shape http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fluidcrossfire_02.html New refinement and render of 'Fluid Shape' simulation. Fluid Shape http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fluidcrossfire.html New R&D experiment. Fluid growing to match a Ferrari Crossfire shape. DSD Fireball http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fball.html Making some tests for to use in future projects. The fire in the ball is propagated from base campfire by the solver, no keyframes. Design http://www.vmuriel.com/page_design.html Another new section, some of my last designs. Thanks for watching. Holidays http://www.vmuriel.com/page_photo.html No staff about Houdini, only showing new section on the site, some personal photographs. Bloody vimeo http://www.vmuriel.com/post_bloodyvimeo.html ... have a nice bloody Halloween. CFD Fluid Flux http://www.vmuriel.com/post_streamers.html Some stills. Cloth Shader http://www.vmuriel.com/post_houdinishaders_cloth.html Mantra shader rendered using new Houdini 9 Physically Based Rendering. Soho http://www.vmuriel.com/post_sohoprimate.html A Houdini 9 new feature is Soho, a python API for include new render engines to Houdini. See $HH/soho/soho.doc for a complete introduction from SideFX. I have integrated into Houdini my little toy PrimateŠ, a custom render engine for rainy days, pretty hobby. Julia http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fractals.html These fractal have been rendered using own coloring methods and the power of the GPU of my graphical card, a Quadro FX. Using the GPU, we can parallel the calculation of this beautiful monster. Pocoyo http://www.vmuriel.com/post_pocoyo.html At this moment, I am working on Pocoyo, a pre-school animated series about a young boy who dresses in blue and who is full of curiosity. It is made by Zinkia Entertainment, and distributed by Granada International. There are 52 episodes in series 1 and each is 6 minutes long. The British actor and comedian Stephen Fry narrates the English language version which is shown in the U.K. on CITV. Tracking on IKEA table http://www.vmuriel.com/post_tracking_table.html Exercise for testing SynthEyes's tracking skills. Very nice and fast software. Tip: In Linux using WINE version 0.9.47 or later works like a charm. Fluids / Lattice-Boltzmann Method http://www.vmuriel.com/post_fluidbol.html The implementation used to create that animation use the Lattice-Boltzmann method, which is a kind of cellular automaton to simulate the macroscopic behavior of fluids. OpenGL Dynamics http://www.vmuriel.com/post_dynrope.html Little realtime dynamic animation from scratch using OpenGL and C++, the target is to learn the basic concepts behind ordinary differential equations (ODE) resolutions. Maya Caustic Shader http://www.vmuriel.com/post_mayacaustics.html This shader simulates global illumination caustic effect. Caustics represents some of the most visually striking patterns of light in nature. Caustics are formed by light that is reflected or transmitted by a number of specular surfaces before interacting with a diffuse surface. Examples of caustics are the light patterns on the bottom of a swimming pool or light focused onto a table through a glass of cognac. A more detailed description of photon mapping technique can be found in the excellent book Realistic Image Synthesis Using Photon Mapping by Henrik Wann Jensen.
